One of the outcomes of Framework Bargaining was agreement to participate in funding support for workforce development initiatives. Commencing on the effective date of the 2015-2019 collective agreements for CLR Trade Divisions that participated in Framework Bargaining employers will contribute 2¢ per hour worked to workforce development initiatives. These are important initiatives, enhancing the workforce through transitioning veterans into the trades, and preparing aboriginal youth for apprenticeships. Participation in the funding support for these initiatives will also assist employers in demonstrating workforce development efforts when applying for Labour Market impact Assessments.
