We support Minister Brian Jean’s announcement of a new grant to honour the memory of fallen workers.
The Government of Alberta’s Workers’ Memorial Grant provides up to $10,000 in matching funds to create physical memorials for workers who died due to their work. A statue, plaque, garden, mural, or commissioned piece of art are all examples of eligible memorials.
Non-profit foundations, societies, worker advocacy groups, labour groups, unions, occupational associations, health and safety associations and public sector organizations such as universities, schools and municipalities are eligible to apply.
