Congratulating CAREERS 25th anniversary

CLRA congratulates CAREERS on its 25th anniversary and applauds the exceptional opportunities CAREERS provides youth to thrive in the trades.

CAREERS is a student-focused, industry-school-community partnership and a key partner of our province’s growth and future vision. Over the last quarter century, CAREERS The Next Generation has facilitated over 31-thousand paid internships – worked alongside educators in over 540 schools – engaged with nearly 400 communities and helped more than 8000 employers build their future skilled workforce.

CLRA has been CAREERS since 2002, joining forces in 2002 to collaboratively:

  • Advance youth employment by communicating and engaging membership for paid internships in high school, providing youth with real career experience, skills and networks for workforce entry.
  • Build stronger communities by attracting and retaining youth to regional occupations in demand, building local capacity and sustainability.
  • Grow and strengthen Alberta’s workforce by engaging youth, including Indigenous youth and young women, in development strategies.

“CAREERS is an established leader with a dedicated team of tireless, innovative champions. Your motivation, attitudes, enthusiasm, and initiative allow Alberta’s students to explore and develop elite skills and talents that will enable them to chart their career paths. The CLRA is honoured to be your partner and have the occasion to say congratulations and thank you for your continued contribution to excellence in Alberta’s trade communities.”

–  Joe McFadyen, President CLRA
